This beautiful sterling silver rings is handmade with love by Atelier Nómada in a small jewellery studio in Fitzroy, Melbourne. All materials are sourced from reputable metal suppliers in Melbourne and Australia. Rest assured that for making this precious piece, I only use fine quality silver.
As usual, my inspiration comes from nature and walks around the city and/or at the beach. This piece is the result of casting an actual Gumnut (Eucalyptus) branch with seedpods into solid silver. Don’t worry – it’s not a plated branch it’s only the shape of a natural branch. You wonder how it’s done? It’s a beautiful process actually! Using a silicon mould, an exact replica of the branch is created and then cast directly into silver. The manufacturing process involves wax injection into the silicon mould, lost wax casting, filing, soldering, polishing, and matt finishing. Oh, and the gems are set directly into the wax when casted. It is an absolutely fun process to make, but requires patience and lots of it!
You can choose a clean simple look in white or oxidised (black) silver, or you can add some sparkle to your finger by choosing to add champagne crystals in your ring – it’s up to you! The oxidisation is a semi-permanent finish and gets beautiful (and very personal) highlights over time, which will add a completely unique style and story to your ring. However, if you prefer to keep your ring plan black you are welcome to send it in for re-finishing for a small fee.
Specific dimensions – Each Gumnut: 0.5cm (approximately), Ring Shank Width: 1.5mm (branch profile)
