This bubbly sterling silver ring is handmade with love by Atelier Nómada in a small jewellery studio in Fitzroy, Melbourne. All materials are sourced from reputable metal suppliers in Melbourne and Australia. Rest assured that for making these precious pieces, I only use fine quality silver and gold.
As usual, my inspiration comes from nature and walks around the city and/or at the beach. In this case, I was inspired by the way barnacles cluster together on the rocks of the iconic St Kilda peer in Melbourne. These earrings were born out of the attempt to recreate these clusters with little bubbles made from molten silver and soldered carefully onto each piece. The manufacturing process involves melting, soldering, filing, and a final high polish!
You can choose between a white or oxidised (black) finish. The oxidisation is a semi-permanent finish and gets beautiful (and very personal) highlights over time, which will add a completely unique style and story to your ring. However, if you prefer to keep your ring plain black you are welcome to send it in for re-finishing for a small fee.
